Temporarily Tempe

Our LA MANCHA rehearsal venue on the North Shore was so stiflingly hot without any air conditioning that we moved holus bolus across town to a rather unattractive suburb across town called Tempe.
This was the sight that greeted me as I got off the bus.
However, there was some history nearby

The world famous Harry's Café de Wheels has an outlet here!
This was originally a small trailer parked on the docks of Woolloomoolloo where American sailors and celebrities alike could savour the matchless pies with peas.
The Tempe version seems bigger and not quite so unobtrusive.

Happily, our rehearsal venue is situated by a river and a park

So a lunchtime stroll is now a pleasant possibility
And in the meantime rehearsals continue apace!
Although I am definitely too frightened to ask what the bathtub is for...

Broadway Unplugged

The Vanguard in King St. Newtown is a lovely venue, a small raised stage, seating at long tables on the ground floor, a bar at the back and a mezzanine with benches and bar seating.
I did three numbers finishing with the opening of MAN OF LA MANCHA duetting with my "Sancho", Ross Chisari who kindly didn't turn a hair as I made up most of the lyrics.
Well, we DO have another week of rehearsals before we open! So if you watch the video below, please be kind.
