Broadway star Nick Adams will host a benefit concert to support The International Theatre and Literacy Project's (itlp.org) youth programs in Rwanda and South Africa. He will be joined onstage with performances by special guests Will Swenson and Tony Sheldon (his co-stars in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert), Alison Luff (Matilda), Julia Murney (Wicked), Tryphena Wade (The Lion King) Ariana Groover (Holler If Ya Hear Me) Eliseo Roman (On Your Feet) and The Skivvies. Nick Adams recently played Fiyero in the first National Tour of Wicked. Previous Broadway credits include Adam/Felicia in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, La Cage Aux Folles, Guys and Dolls, A Chorus Line, The Pirate Queen and Chicago. Nick is the proud winner of two Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards. Will Swenson has been seen on Broadway as Javert in Les Miserables, Tick/Mitzi in Priscilla, Queen of the Dessert, Berger in Hair , 110 in the Shade with his wife Audra McDonald, Lestat and Brooklyn. Tony Sheldon is a Tony nominee and Theatre World Award winner for his performance as Bernadette in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. He is currently playing Julius Caesar in Charles Busch's Cleopatra at Theatre For The New City.
Julia Murney has appeared on Broadway as Elphaba in Wicked and in Lennon. Alison Luff's Broadway roles include Miss Honey in Matilda, Fantine in Les Miserables as well as Mamma Mia, Scandalous and Ghost the Musical. Eliseo Roman is currently appearing on Broadway in On Your Feet. Previously he was seen in In The Heights. Tryphena Wade appeared as Sarabi in The Lion King. Ariana Groover was last seen on Broadway in Holler If Ya Hear Me and Off-Broadway in Bare. The Skivvies are Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley award winning Broadway actors lauded by the New York Times as "a hot musical comedy duo".

The International Theatre and Literacy Project (itlp.org), Stephen DiMenna, artistic director, uses theatre as a means of social and educational uplift for teen-agers struggling with the challenges of poverty, crime, violence, gender inequity and inequality in developing countries. ITLP conducts theatre workshops to teach English literacy, develop independent thinking, self-empowerment, leadership skills and gender equity. They strive to help young people advance their educational and employment opportunities and nurture their voices as leaders to enable growth, change and community development with programs in South Africa, Rwanda and Tanzania.

    BROADWAY BACKWARDS Enlists Julie White to Host 2016 Edition; Chita Rivera, Danielle Brooks & More Join Lineup!Broadway legend and two-time Tony Award winner Chita Rivera, Tony nominees Stephanie J. Block and
    Tony Sheldon, Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple, "Orange is the New Black"), and Laura Michelle Kelly (Finding Neverland) are among those joining the stunning cast of this year's Broadway Backwards, a one-night-only musical celebration, custom-made for the LGBT community, our friends and families. In addition, it was announced that Tony winner Julie White, a longtime supporter of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, will host this year's 11th edition.

    Also just added to the roster of performers are Nick Adams (Priscilla Queen of the Desert), Josh Grisetti (It Shoulda Been You), Eddie Korbich (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), Karen Mason (Sunset Boulevard), and Kenita R. Miller (Xanadu).

    This year's Broadway Backwards (#broadwaybackwards) will take the stage at 8 PM Monday, March 21, at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street, NYC), home to the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Kinky Boots. The evening is produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and benefits BC/EFA and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center of New York.

    These new names join a list of Broadway favorites announced earlier: Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, The Little Mermaid), Len Cariou (Sweeney Todd, TV's Blue Bloods), Andre De Shields (Gotta Dance), Telly Leung (Allegiance), Beth Malone (Fun Home), Lesli Margherita (Dames at Sea), Brad Oscar (Something Rotten!), Ken Page (Cats), Krysta Rodriguez (Spring Awakening, TV's Smash), Emily Skinner (Side Show), Ricky Ubeda (On the Town, TV's So You Think You Can Dance), Treat Williams (Follies), Tony Yazbeck (Finding Neverland) and Broadway trio Apollo Link. Performers subject to change.

VIP tickets include premium seats and a special post-show cocktail reception with the cast. A limited number of "Backstage & Beyond" tickets also are available, which include the opportunity to see the dress rehearsal, exclusive backstage access, a meet and greet with some of the stars of Broadway Backwards, premium seats for the show and more.

    Broadway Backwards Creator Robert Bartley will again direct the show. Also returning are Mary-Mitchell Campbell as music supervisor and Tim Rosser as music director. Bartley, Al Blackstone, David Bushman, JoAnn Hunter and Adam Roberts will choreograph.
