Girls Night Out |
Fellow blogger and camera expert Alison made the trek to Toronto this week to see PRISCILLA for the seven millionth time and presented me with (amongst other generous gifts) the second of the paintings she commissioned from the wonderful Dutch-born Sydney artist Eva Hannah. The first (which Ally gave me for the West End opening) depicted "Priscilla" sailing for London out of Sydney Harbour, and pictured waving goodbye from the shore were several of Hannah's signature "fat ladies" and drag queens. The second painting (Eva is a fan if the Impressionists and favours working in oils) has the pink bus floating down the Thames bound for New York and this time she is farewelled by Bobbies and Beefeaters in eyelashes and heels. Wonderfully witty and imaginative like all of Eva's work, some of which I've included here. You can find more info on her website. Thanks again, Ally, and enjoy the rest of your holiday!
