This is a fine new play, beautifully staged and passionately acted by a superlative cast based on some secret files found in the Harvard archives. A dozen mens' lives were ruined in the 1920's when a closeted coterie of gay students was exposed and its members mostly expelled. The majority of the young men were unable to realise their dreams of success and a number committed suicide. This could easily have been another downer gay story of how homosexuals are villified and abused but the final coup of rage performed by the cast on a set of chairs to increasingly rabid movement was gut wrenchingly touching.
