Found a new gallery today in the Bowery with a charming exhibition by Friends With You.

It’s the first New York solo exhibition by Miami duo FriendsWithYou entitled “ ”. 
There are  smiling puddles on the gallery floor, kinetic paintings blinking from the walls and a massive chandelier of an inflatable sculpture.
FriendsWithYou is Samuel Borkson and Arturo Sandoval III who formed their collective in 2002.
Many FriendsWithYou works look like toys because they are "meant for play". Starting out sewing art toys by hand, the duo has grown into much larger than life projects and their work has appeared in the permanent collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Art Gallery of Western Australia among others. Good fun.
