a brush with fame

tt)   Apart from working with world famous Mr Rush today the company met with a powerhouse of wit, intelligence and the gift of immense gab. Here he is on the end of our table still talking after at least fifty minutes. I had a splendid gaffe when I confidently  shook his hand and said, "Hello, Simon. I'm Tony!"  Emily B was in fits of mirth but as Christie SW said, "He didn't hear it."  It was Stephen Fry!!!  He talked fluently about cyberspace, Australian politics, Bette Midler's jokes and his tour. I managed to thank him for "Bright Young Things", which really is a wonderful film, and he was able to tell us that David Tennant and James McEvoy were given their film debuts by him!!!
