Great to see a great performance especially when the actor is one of your ex students. Ben Grant has become a wonderfully warm and strong artist who also writes stunningly powerful poetry and displays expert dexterity with a mountain of wood and rope. He weaves stories and objects into a magnificent sculpture which represents the journey of a man and a father on this ridiculous ocean of life. The heavy pile of lumber he drags in from the night becomes an airy web of dreams and the sight of him swinging under his pyramid, the macrame figure of his little boy above him, is one of those theatre images that will burn into my brain.
