Well it's 6.15 and I haven't been squashed by a building yet so I'll continue the blog as normal
Went on the A to 190th to The Cloisters. This is where New Yorkers can come to see a spendiferous range of plundered medieval loot from tapestries to columns and crucifixes to leadlight. This saves lots of time once they get to Europe so they can get on with shopping. It is a beautiful place and was not as crowded as I had thought.
Here is a poetic way of saying, "Bin it"
The Fort Tryon park is bursting with life
That little patch in the middle is the Hudson and the trees in the distance are New Jersey
A little shady bosky which threw me back to Florence
When we were in Sintra in the hills beyond Lisbon in 2006 we went to the summer palace of the Portugese royal family. There was a little courtyard with pillars all round and a New Zealand fern in an urn at the centre. I said to Sheldon that one day I would love a house built around such a feature. Well here is another version which one day I'll hand to an architect and say, "Give us that!"
There is another cloister which is larger and has a garden in the centre
And here are some treasures
This is St Michael
From the bus stop waiting for the M4
