Well, thank goodness THAT'S over!!!! The audience is always a worry on opening night; the laughs that have been surefire for weeks of previews suddenly disappear and one gets the impression that they're more interested in watching each other than the action onstage. Still, everyone was most enthusiastic at the party and the high point for me was reconnecting with Guy Pearce who I hadn't seen since we performed together in I HATE HAMLET back in 1992. He's as glorious as ever and, bein' modern fellers, we almost got a little teary. The reviews were mixed as I expected but it doesn't seem to have affected the bookings which continue apace!!
