We got to cross the bay from Berkeley on my first day off from rehearsal.

A stroll through downtown San Francisco was the first order of the day.

A blend of the old and new

And a temple to Armani

A quick trip down to the Wharf which appears to be turning 100 this year

The local artwork seems unimpressed

Downright stony faced

But the trams are as jolly as ever

We ambled to the end of Fisherman's Wharf

Then....a fabulously scenic trip right across town to the Presidio area and the Disney Museum!

Farewell NYC

It was lovely to rehearse down in the Financial District for a change. Such impressive scenery.

These boots were made for planting.

The ride home took me past the Christopher Street subway station.

We also had the chance to see KT Sullivan and Jeff Harnar in their new Sondheim tribute show ANOTHER HUNDRED PEOPLE at the Laurie Beechman Theatre.

They are both doing wonderful work as always in a splendid act directed by our dear mate Sondra Lee. Although I inadvertently found myself a part of Jeff's first number.

The New One

We've completed our first two weeks of rehearsals in NYC.

Adam Chanler-Berat and Perry Sherman are ridiculously talented and handsome.

Our dear Paul Whitty missed the last day of rehearsal in NYC. His wife, who had already gone ahead to Berkeley, went into labor and so Paul hopped the first plane on Sunday morning to join her. We took this group shot of us cooing over a garden gnome to send to Paul, and at the end of the day's rehearsal we heard that Paul's wife had given birth at 12.16pm to a beautiful baby girl. They have named her...Amelie.

 

City Island

A little secret at the very top of the Bronx, a residential island that swarms with tourists on weekends but seems deserted on a Monday afternoon.

Our restaurant is apparently doing well.

But we chose to eat elsewhere.

In the riot of color and HUUUGE servings known as Sammy's Fish Box

although there is seafood everywhere you look on the island
