Street Scenes

Central park
Looking West
Looking East
The greenery on the High Line is growing apace and twill soon be a jungle!

Everyone thought this was a very good mime. But she is a very good sculpture.
14th Street
 Washington Square
Duelling cameras. It was very hot but it suddenly started to rain so we had to find a shop that sold cheapie shirts and jackets. These were our selections.
I took TT to Le Poisson Rouge to meet my friend the supremely talented Linsay Mendez who was launching her new album. Next week she opens on Broadway as the new Elphaba in WICKED.

Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812

Yes, it's a musical version of WAR & PEACE!! Well, a very small section of it.
A tent has been specially built under the High Line for the event which started at Ars Nova last year and was voted one of the best shows of the year by Time Out.

A delicious full meal is served before the show and vodka flows copiously
The atmosphere is that of  a glamorous Russian nightclub with chandeliers and paintings filling every available space.
The action takes place throughout the space on platforms and occasionally at the dining tables.

The musicians are similarly placed all over the venue.

Ingeniously, the table lamps are actually part of the lighting plot. It is a thrilling night wonderfully performed with music of all styles from Kurt Weill to Galt McDermott to Russian folk. It has already received a special citation at the Obie awards. Long may it run!!

Dinner with Friends

Marcus Galante invited the Gang over for cocktails and nibbles before we scattered to the winds.

Lee Roy Reams, Richie Ridge, Harvey Evans, Marcus and the Old Crocks. One day Lee Roy has to put all his juicy stories of working with the stars into a book. But he might have to wait until they're all dead.

Taylor returns with a vengeance

(tt)  So on the road again. Have settled into the Manhattan apartment which we vacate May 27 for Connecticut and Sheldon's new job at he Goodspeed Opera House   (look it up on Google Images), a perfect theatre to host "Hello Dolly"
Now I have time to go through the photos of my previous ports of call after leaving Sydney.
Here are a few of Hong Kong
The view from my gifted apartment courtesy of Rick Lau who was owed a favour.  These were taken during the 8 o'clock light show.

Now for some reason I cannot scroll down and in between the photos for my comments

So I might have to describe then following here.
You will see amongst other stuff

The environs around my apartment block, a foodcourt with really cool graphics, the view from the window as seen by the twins

Forget that I seem to have fixed it
