Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812

Yes, it's a musical version of WAR & PEACE!! Well, a very small section of it.
A tent has been specially built under the High Line for the event which started at Ars Nova last year and was voted one of the best shows of the year by Time Out.

A delicious full meal is served before the show and vodka flows copiously
The atmosphere is that of  a glamorous Russian nightclub with chandeliers and paintings filling every available space.
The action takes place throughout the space on platforms and occasionally at the dining tables.

The musicians are similarly placed all over the venue.

Ingeniously, the table lamps are actually part of the lighting plot. It is a thrilling night wonderfully performed with music of all styles from Kurt Weill to Galt McDermott to Russian folk. It has already received a special citation at the Obie awards. Long may it run!!
