Hudson

Our host August gave us a walking tour of Hudson's main street before we trundled off to hear Robert sing at the Hudson Opera House
Our host
We visited the Helsinki Café, a swish restaurant which now has a performance space sometimes used as an "out-of'town-tryout" by New York cabaret performers such as Charles Busch.

Ms. Ambrose of SIX FEET UNDER fame was announced to play the lead in a Broadway revival of FUNNY GIRL recently until the show was cancelled when the producers could not raise the necessary funds on her name. Now it seems Lea Michele will be the next Fanny Brice.
Ms. Molaskey. A personal fave.

Another wonderful performance space!

Claudia Bruce (pictured) and her partner Linda Mussmann created TIME & SPACE LIMITED where they write and direct the productions and also screen the National Theatre Live series from London.

In the café hang two maps of the United States. Each blue strip of paper indicates a serviceman, their place of birth and the date they were killed in the current hostilities overseas. Up close, the volume of the blue strips is horrifying.
Then we passed this succulent in a shop window. It's more than 70 years old.
The Hudson Opera House has a theatre upstairs which will begin renovations later this year. We snuck upstairs to take a look at it in all it's decrepit glory.
