To my delight and surprise my gorgeous cast threw an impromptu party for me during interval the night after my 1600th performance.
Here is the crown I was given to wear. There was a delicious strawberry and banana sponge cake and I was handed a big stick and ordered to beat a pinata! (below)
I knew the tradition and that the pinata was filled with sweets so I attacked the task with all my might so as not to appear wimpy. I may have been a tad too aggressive as there were many shocked and slightly frightened faces before the task was completed and the floor strewn with Tootsie Rolls, Baby Ruths and Butterfingers.
