Up to Riverside

Left Lincoln Centre to meet up with Mark O'Donnell, writer of  "Hairspray, The Musical"
Here are some pics of the walk up Broadway
Approaching the magnificent Ansonia Apts cnr 72nd and Broadway

Florenz Ziegfeld had the top floor for his wife and himself and a lower floor for his mistresses.

This side of the Ansonia contained the entrance to the seedy Continental Baths where in the 70's Miss Bette Midler and Barry Manilow performed for towel clad gents.

A lovely facade on the way to Riverside Drive

Love deco. Love a good awning,  Combined divine.

  1. Yes and I remember parking cars for patrons of PLATOS RETREAT--a real orgy scene in the early 80's--(after Ms. M. sang at the baths, which I also played in) many of my many "day job gigs" in this our fair BIG APPLE BANK OF THE WORLD!"
