a walk through my domain

(tt)   I had planned to foot it through all the streets of Katoomba once I was settled in. After dropping off more tat at the Cat Lovers Op Shop..pity there isn't a Cat Haters..I took off and did a few streets. Off the main drag this little town is so so pretty and the houses are almost all gems with fruit trees and stonework and typical low roofs and chimneys for the essential winter fires.
Here is a local bus shelter. Haven't sussed out the service yet
The Clarendon Hotel is on my street. It was the home to many a show written and starring Reg Livermore as well as a space for mad pantos and cabaret performers
Now it is a very upmarket music venue
A little ersatz Swiss kitch on the upper level
Further down Lurline

This is a two a.am-er. Sheldon and I always look at catchy business names and ascertain the time in the morning that the title flashed into the collective brain..helped or hindered by alcohol. Our favourite was a salon in Adelaide called 'Hair Mart'.

Once a local store this now a very posh coffee shop
They used to fill you up with standard fuel at this place. Now it's embalming fluid

I thnk I might choose to forget
This is the classic beautiful Australian homestead which should have gone on the influence all domestic architecture.

The Egans are long gone...Grocers? Haberdashers? Sheet Music? Now a framers

Katoomba is the home of Christmas In July. The graffitist presumably wishes it was not.
