La Mome Piaf

We ventured down to Washington Mews ("They call me Bruce...of Washington Mews...") to La Maison Francaise (in a light drizzle which felt very Parisian) where we saw an exhibition of photographs of Edith Piaf by Hugues Vassal who became a close friend of the singer in the last years of her life.

She did like to surround herself with gorgeous men. With her songwriters and musicians in her apartment.

With Rivesgauche (one of her composers at piano) and Felix  (one of her lovers)

     With her final husband Theo Sarapo. This was Vassal's last picture of Edith.
