Larger Than Life

We saw the World Premiere of Dori Berinstein's magnificent documentary CAROLCHANNING: LARGER THAN LIFE at the Tribeca Film festival today. What a joyous experience!
The legendary Broadway star comes out of the film very well indeed, loved by all who know or worked with her. Interviews with Betty Garrett, Bruce Vilanch, Joanne Worley, Tommy Tune, Lily Tomlin, Loni Anderson, Debbie Reynolds, Phyllis Diller, Jerry Herman and Marge Champion are interspersed with wonderful archival footage of Channing in performance ( a tv interview with Gene Shalit is one of the funniest pieces of film you'll ever see) and reminiscences by Channing and her new husband (and childhood love) Harry. We were in floods of tears for most of the film, it is such a moving tribute to one of the last greats of Broadway's Golden Age.
