THE 39 STEPS

The Off-Broadway production of "The 39 Steps" will play its final performance on January 16, 2011. It will have played 23 previews and 318 performances Off-Broadway and over 1,100 total performances in New York City.
Adapted by Patrick Barlow and directed by our darling friend and occasional landlady Maria Aitken, the play is a comedic take on Hitchcock's 1935 classic thriller about a man who is forced by a mysterious woman's death into a cross-country race for his life. The play is not only very dear to us because it brought Maria and her husband Patrick McGrath into our lives but it was one of TT's final triumphs at the Melbourne Theatre Company before he temporarily left the stage to become a PRISCILLA widow. Hopefully this sad situation will be remedied before Sheldy is only fit to play wheelchair roles like Madame Armfeldt.

  1. I can honestly say this was one of the best nights ever in the theatre ... TT, you and Grant did just such a great job with all those changes ... I was devastated that you guys didnt do the Sydney run. Is Grant Piro ever bad though ?? Hes consistently great in everything he does .. even in smaller roles for the Production Company you look forward to him coming out on stage.
