Triassic Parq

A new musical at the Soho Playhouse. And we think headed for an uptown space if justice means anything in this stupid business. Book & Lyrics by Marshall Pailet, Bryce Norbitz and Stephen Wargo with Music by Marshall Pailet, the show has all the anarchic originality, energy and hilarity of a LITTLE SHOP or URINETOWN.

This is where we saw Charles Busch's brilliant DIVINE SISTER.

The plot concerns a clan of female dinosaurs and the repercussions when one of the group spontaneously turns male. The cast list includes a few velociraptors, a couple of T-Rexes, a Mime-a-saurus and Morgan Freeman. Oh, and the musical director. A Pianosaurus.
The show has a cast of six, all of whom seem to have a six octave range, can dance up a storm, play comedy brilliantly and look fabulous. But Brandon Espinoza (above) is an audience fave as the hyperkinetic mime-a-saurus. His interpretation of someone's reflection in a rippling stream is a marvel.

The show looks wonderful: scenic design by Caite Hevner, costumes by Dina Perez and lighting by Jen Schreiver.

Zak Sandler provides the terrific musical direction. This one will be a hot ticket.
