They're the Voice

These are New York Voices, a stunning jazz ensemble currently at Jazz Standard on E 27th

Sheldon would have loved this evening. Not only were Jack Donahue and Rich Carson my table mates but we were joined by Rob Fisher, acclaimed Broadway conductor and founding member of 'Encores', the company that presents obscure and seldom performed musicals .

The music was sublime. The harmonies are scientific!  My favourite was an angelic rendering of "For All We Know", which made my heart burst. They also did  a song Jack co-wrote..a very sexy Bossa Nova ( forgive me if it was another genre, Jack)  The accompanying band was superb. We even got to sing along with their last number, "Slap Bang in the Middle'    This night was slap bang at the top.
