There are still a few art nouveau and deco touches to admire.
Here is the famous Carrington Hotel. It's had a makeover but they have kept the weird chimney which dampens the glamour somewhat.

The dream of owning a 'wretched little flat above a store' was shattered today. An agent told me you have to buy the whole building. But this is what I have dreamed of for so long.
We are now on a more residential part of the street.

And here is the house we looked at. It was damp! And it had a weird feeling about it. So back to the drawing board
