(tt) We were privileged to see the final run through of "Uncle Vanya", directed by Hungarian Tamas Ascher, at NIDA this morning. Stripped of its set and costumes which await the cast in New York, the play was the thing. The wonderful cast trod an expert line between hysterical comedy and bitterly aching tragedy..fueled by copious quaffs of vodka and the odd sip of cold tea. We wish them all the greatest success in the season at City Centre. They conquered Washington last year.
Nanny Weaver caught up with us and Maggie Dence afterwards.
