This vintage parking garage is the site of the Art Gallery, a corner of which was curtained off for the performance.
In the next block is the magnificent 1922 movie palace which almost fell to the wreckers ball in the eighties. A $34 million makeover was achieved via a group of concerned citizens. God bless them.
Here are some randoms from our pre-show amble. This is the oldest part of the settlement of Honolulu, spreading out from the harbour. It is pretty ramshackle and we hope not destined to go the way of the rest of the city.

I couldn't work out why I felt I'd been here before. I've worked it out. It has the same atmosphere that Broome, Western Australia, had in the 1980's
Most of the shops had closed for the weekend. These lovely screens cover the windows.
Despite the colourful ambience there was a seedy danger about. In fact the guide books recommend not hanging around after nightfall. So off we nicked.
