Here's my hat, fellas!

Cady Huffman is now becoming a brilliant milliner under the tutelage of the master, Rodney Gordon. We were invited  by David Bruson to tour the studio where we bumped into Mr Charles Busch, there for a  fitting for a new venture. Mr Gordon has been responsible for decorating the domes of many a diva including Bette Midler, Patti LuPone and Miss Huffman herself. The place is crammed with shelves dripping with ribbons, feathers, beads, braids and sequins.

Many of the creations which take days to finish and cost thousands of dollars are often cut from a production as quickly.

The company created and maintain and recreate the headwear and masks for "Phantom"

The work bench looks like it could have been there for the making of the hats for the Floradora Girls

There's a separate work room for masks and prosthetics

David tries on the makings of a bowler that Cady has promised she'll create for him.

An ugly monster

A beautiful Cady models the finale hat  Rodney made for her when she played Dolly Gallagher Levi
last year.

They have made countless "Phantom" masks over the years

Mr Busch shows why the public are not ready for his take on the role.

And here are some of the shows that the milliners and adjoining dressmakers have dressed over the years.
Note "Legs Diamond" for one.
Thank you Mr Gordon for a dive into Aladdin's cave.

  1. Sheldy, This place looks like heaven to one whose second bedroom could be a craft shop!! Have you been to the Frick Museum yet. I thought it was wonderful. Love Lois
