Looking up to Astor Place

This beautiful building with 'Indochine' restaurant on the ground floor is directly across Lafayette from the theatres

  At interval I had a diner salad and walked back in the fading light

  This is Astor Place building

A couple of months ago you wouldn't have seen this because the entire block between 4th Ave and 3rd was still there. The NYU which owns almost all the real estate in the downtown area is planning something new

  In the meantime we get to see the Cooper Union building completely.
