Bistro Awards

(tt)    I went to this prestigious ceremony at the Gotham Comedy club the other night. The committee annually honours cabaret artists for their contribution to the genre. It was long but very enjoyable and some faves were given a gong.

Here is the glorious Joyce Breach with whom I shared a table. She was honoured for ongoing excellence. "Not Exactly Paris"

Joyce was accompanied by Warren Vache who garnered a lifetime achievement award

Rita Gardner won for her retro Off Broadway Golden Age show which I saw at the Metropolitan Room last year and she rocked the room going mad doing Jacque Brel's, "Carousel"

The columnist Liz Smith presented Kay Ballard's award via Skype

A very very funny and warm gay comedian, Justin Sayres, who read out a touching letter from Liz Taylor a couple of days before she died. She loved 'big' men!

The other knockout was Aaron Weinstein, the violin virtuoso, who I have managed to see over six times now.
