Evita with a Peron

(tt)  I was proud to escort the original Juan Peron of the 1980 Australian cast to the matinee of the latest version of

Ironic that Mr Martin has to be the marquee drawcard for box office purposes.

Actually I enjoyed his performance immensely. He was as charismatic as a very talented but not-at-all precocious baby.

 The end of Act One
 Elena Roger played her as a genuine innocent slowly discovering the power of her ambition as she achieved it. When she 'turned' it was a marvellous shock.  Michael Cerveris was great too.

The cost of the set and lighting could feed the poor of Buenos Aires


Tango plays an integral part in the production. Here are some snaps I took of the ensemble from a foyer display.

He was so excited! I got a blow by blow on the Oz production which allowed him to Peron for over seven Evitas.
Seeing him and the other Aussies in "The Book of Everything" at the New Victory on Friday.
