Bits of a day

I met with the gorgeous Sue Lyons for a tete. This lovely jazz club is on the block where our rendezvous sits aand I was flung back to the fifties by the signage.

These cool warm cats were playing beautifully in Columbus Circle station

And here is another of those wonderful Broadway birds. A raven attacking three apples ig you can't quite make it out

A very special treat tonight. Sheldon nabbed two tickets to a sold out concert in one of the auditoriums inside the Met Museum of Art. The divine Max Rabbe  ( look him up on YouTube)  He and his exquisite orchestra render songs from the twenties and thirties with delicious authenticity and respect.  Each piece, including some German novelty songs as well as classics like Falling Love Again, mixed with standards from the American song book, was a gem. The undercurrent of humour and nostalgia never wandered into camp. Herr Rabbe is a living doll.
