(tt) Sheldon was walking past Carnegie Hall a couple of days ago. On the off chance there might be a ticket he went in ...there was .. three rows from the front and centre.. he bought it...to a concert of the music of Burton Lane, 'Standard Time', hosted by the vastly informative Michael Feinstein
...with special guests Joyce Breach
and Ron Raines
The music was indeed glorious and I was knocked out especially by Ms Breach's version of 'Too Late Now' ( you can hear it on her tribute to the movies album, 'Reel Songs') and Mr Raine's two numbers from 'On a Clear Day You Can See Forever' .... 'Melinda' and 'She Wasn't You'. The audience went nuts! Mr Feinstein did fine justice to the title song as a closer. I think that song is truly a work of cosmic genius in both the music and lyric departments. Now that I am trying to implement some of Eckhart Tolle's writing into my daily life it has even more impact.
Here is the poster from the front. Excuse the scaffolding.
