The Day Off

After a crippling ten-show week we got out into the fresh air, first of all to Central Park where we discovered the Belvedere Castle
I found this handsome devil loitering on a turret
The castle overlooks the Delacorte Theatre, home of the NY Shakespeare Festival
Their next season is AS YOU LIKE IT and INTO THE WOODS
Then we wandered across town to catch the Roosevelt Island cable car
Up, up and away, crossing 1st Avenue
over the East River
coming in for a landing
We took the bus for a few stops then decided to walk along the river instead

The Circle Line has re-opened for Spring
We want the apartment with the green roofed conservatory
The north point of the island
and then around the other side with a view of Queens
The island is all residential with hospitals, schools, a subway station and even a theatre. Lots of kids and playgrounds.
This impressive structure used to be the lunatic asylum. Nice to know I'll have somewhere to go after PRISCILLA.
Then we caught the train back to Manhattan and walked along 59th Street where we noticed the Gainsborough Building
